Jenson Button is set to take a grid penalty into this weekend's United States Grand Prix due to an unscheduled gearbox change.
Button, whose McLaren future remains unclear, finished fourth at the recent Russian Grand Prix but the squad has revealed that the Brit's gearbox needs changing.
Under Formula 1 regulations, drivers must use their gearbox for six consecutive events and will sustain a penalty if they do not.
"Jenson has just confirmed that he'll get a five-place grid penalty for an unscheduled gearbox change for this weekend's USGP," McLaren revealed on Twitter.
