Hamilton tops qualifying session

Lewis Hamilton will start the Spanish Grand Prix from pole position after sweeping all of the top spots in each round of qualifying session. His fast lap of 1:19.149 set a new track qualifying record and was .051 of a second better than runner-up Sebastian Vettel. Hamilton quickest in opening testing day

The first of two days of testing at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir began on Tuesday, with all 10 teams competing in the 2017 Formula One Championship being present. Hamilton takes blame for penalty

Lewis Hamilton apologised to his team for taking the penalty after holding up Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo while driving too slow on pit entry during the Safety Car period. This move might have cost Hamiton the Bahrain Grand Prix victory as well as the championship lead. Three-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton won the Chinese Grand Prix from Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen. It was the Mercedes driver’s 54th career Formula One victory, his first of the season and his fifth at the Shanghai International Circuit. Hamilton beats Vettel for pole

Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton will start the the Chinese Grand Prix from pole position after setting the fastest lap ever turned at the Shanghai International Circuit in Qualifying. His lap of 1:31.678 was .186 of a second better than runner-up Sebastian Vettel. Mercedes wrap up pre-season testing

  Mercedes ended pre-season on a positive note, as Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas took the W08’s eight day test haul to a massive 1,096 total laps (5,102km) – equivalent to over 16 race distances at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
