COTA formally confirms 2016 US Grand Prix

Officials at the Circuit of the Americas have formally confirmed that it will host the 2016 United States Grand Prix, following months of uncertainty. That led to its position on the 2016 calendar issued by the FIA remaining provisional, but the circuit has now confirmed that this year's event will be held […]

Massa feels podium slipped through Williams' grasp

Felipe Massa believes that Williams missed out on finishing on the podium at the United States Grand Prix. Massa spent much of the race in third place but was jumped by Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo through the second round of stops and came home in fourth place. "I had a very good start to get up to third place and we showed strong pace throughout the race, but unfortunately a slower than normal pitstop allowed Ricciardo to jump me and this could have cost us […]

Magnussen: Not much left in the car

Kevin Magnussen believes he extracted the maximum from the McLaren MP4-29 after finishing in eighth place in the United States Grand Prix. Magnussen, racing at the Circuit of the Americas for the first time, stopped on the opening lap and made just one more pit stop for fresh tyres and preserved his rubber to collect four points. "Eighth position isn’t a fantastic result, but I honestly don’t think we could have got much more out of the car this afternoon," he said. "It’s a shame […]

"I’m happy with that," he said. "I could see the Mercedes for the first part of the race which was really cool, I don’t know […]

Perez: Clash with Sutil 'unfortunate'

Sergio Perez says his clash on the opening lap of the United States Grand Prix with Adrian Sutil was 'unfortunate'. The Mexican was battling with Sutil for ninth position when the pair made contact at Turn 15, with both cars sustaining terminal damage in the accident. "What happened today is really unfortunate," he said. "I made a move on Adrian at Turn 15 when he left the door open, so I went up the inside. Then Adrian started to close the door and I had […]

Button hoping to exploit strategy

Jenson Button says he will have to exploit his strategy if he is to make progress during the United States Grand Prix on Sunday. Button qualified in seventh position but will drop to 12th due to an unscheduled gearbox change. "It was so close between Kevin [Magnussen] and myself on every run this afternoon," he said. "My fastest lap wasn’t amazing – it’s quite difficult to string a lap together around here, because you struggle with the inconsistencies caused by moderate grip, high winds and […]
