A tricky qualifying session for Force India today, which didn’t really go to plan. A brake problem held back Esteban Ocon and seriously compromised his qualifying session, especially towards the end when the track was improving. “It’s disappointing to be out in Q1, but we had an issue with the brakes that held us back. I pitted for slicks when the track was improving and my brake pedal went long. We tried to optimise the situation as much as we could, cooling down the brakes, […]
DRIVERS – Brendon HARTLEY (Toro Rosso), Nico HULKENBERG (Renault), Sergio PEREZ (Force India), Sebastian VETTEL (Ferrari) PRESS CONFERENCE Q: Brendon, go back to two weeks ago at Silverstone. That was a horrible-looking crash. How are you now? No lasting effects, I hope. Brendon HARTLEY: Actually, waking up on the Sunday, I was ready to go. Almost no knock-on effects, which was a surprise after watching the replay myself and seeing how spectacular that looked. In fact, the impact was smaller than what I had in both […]

DRIVERS – Fernando ALONSO (McLaren), Brendon HARTLEY (Toro Rosso), Sergio PEREZ (Force India), Carlos SAINZ (Renault) PRESS CONFERENCE Q: Brendon, you scored your first World Championship point in Baku, last time out, how good did that feel? Brendon HARTLEY: Yeah, it was maybe a bit of a relief, in a way because I’d had a couple of opportunities already and didn’t capitalise. Bahrain was the most obvious one where we had a very competitive car. So, it’s nice to finally get that first point. Had a […]
Sahara Force India moved up to fourth place in the Constructors' Championship after Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon finished in points in today's Bahrain Grand Prix. It is a solid start to their season and gives the team a good base to build on over the coming races. After a challenging qualifying session yesterday, the team made all the right calls in the race while none of its drivers put a wheel out of place. Only one of the cars was fortunate with the timing of the safety car, but […]
The first day of the season saw the VJM10 emerge in its new pink livery at Albert Park as Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon Clocked up a total of 124 laps between them. It was a fairly routine start to the 2017 season for Force India, with a brake system problem on Ocon’s car the only significant issue at the start of FP1. Fortunately the team resolved that quite quickly allowing the Frenchman to get on with learning the track. “I didn’t have the best […]

Sergio Perez enjoyed the time spent in Mexico during the summer break but he now looks forward to getting back to action in Spa this weekend. Force India's Sergio Perez is hopeful that he can end his run of sub-par results in Hungary when the sport returns to the Hungaroring this weekend. Perez is enjoying his strongest Formula 1 campaign since he made his debut in 2011 but has scored points only once in Budapest, when he finished a low-key ninth in 2013. Perez has retired from the most recent two Hungarian Grands Prix and last year also rolled spectacularly during the first free practice session. "We have been strong in […]

Perez was eventually overhauled by Raikkonen but preserved sixth position, narrowly ahead of team-mate Nico Hulkenberg. "It’s a very good result for the team, with two cars in the points, […]
