Pirelli fulfilled testing objectives

  Pirelli confirms to have fulfilled most of the objectives that they had targeted during the eight days of pre-season testing in Barcelona. The testing sessions has now concluded, with all the teams taking part in the second four-day session this week and completing plenty of running. Mercedes pair hail 'incredible' start to 2016

Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg have hailed the outfit's start to the 2016 season after the W07 Hybrid completed four full days of running during the first test. Raikkonen heads final day of first test

Ferrari’s Kimi Räikkönen returned the team to the top of the time sheets on the final day of the first pre-season test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Räikkönen set a time of 1:23.477 on the Ultra Soft tyres to ensure that Ferrari finished in front on three of the four days, with team-mate Sebastian Vettel having been quickest on Monday and Tuesday. Hulkenberg quickest on third test day

Force India’s Nico Hülkenberg posted the quickest time during a run on Super Soft tyres on the third day of pre-season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Hülkenberg had been quickest on both the Medium tyres during the morning and the Soft rubber early in the afternoon session, before he improved further on the Super Soft compound. Hamilton upbeat over Mercedes mileage

Lewis Hamilton expressed his optimism after racking up almost two Grands Prix distances during the opening day of testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Monday. Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel posted the quickest time during the opening day of pre-season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Vettel set his lap of 1:24.939 on the Medium tyre 20 minutes before the lunch break, with his time remaining unbeaten throughout the afternoon session. Barcelona faces slash in state funding

The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, home of the Spanish Grand Prix, is facing a reduction in its funding from the city council. The circuit receives in the region of €4 million annually for holding Formula 1 races, but that figure is set to be cut to €2 million this year. Barcelona elected a new council in May last year, just two weeks after officials at the circuit signed a new deal to keep Formula 1 until at least 2019. Barcelona confirms 2016 pre-season dates

Officials at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya have confirmed the dates for 2016 Formula 1 pre-season testing. The sport has cut the number of tests from three to two and both sessions will take place at the home of the Spanish Grand Prix. The first batch of group sessions will take place from February 22 to 25, with a four-day gap before the next running from March 1 to 4. Lynn pleased with Williams test outing
