Ferrari’s Kimi Räikkönen returned the team to the top of the time sheets on the final day of the first pre-season test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Force India’s Nico Hülkenberg posted the quickest time during a run on Super Soft tyres on the third day of pre-season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Hülkenberg had been quickest on both the Medium tyres during the morning and the Soft rubber early in the afternoon session, before he improved further on the Super Soft compound. The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, home of the Spanish Grand Prix, is facing a reduction in its funding from the city council. The circuit receives in the region of €4 million annually for holding Formula 1 races, but that figure is set to be cut to €2 million this year. Officials at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya have confirmed the dates for 2016 Formula 1 pre-season testing. The sport has cut the number of tests from three to two and both sessions will take place at the home of the Spanish Grand Prix.
