Marchionne:

Ferrari President Sergio Marchionne is proud of Scuderia's performance this weekend after Sebastian Vettel produced a flawless drive to win the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday, starting from third on the grid and beating both Mercedes drivers. It is Vettel's fifth victory in Prancing Horse colours, one that was also down to the strategic calls from the Ferrari pit wall.  Kimi Raikkonen finished fourth, despite encountering a few difficulties, and fought back to finish just off the podium.  "It is, of course, hugely satisfying to be back on […]

Vettel tops opening practice sessions

The third round of the 2017 FIA Formula One World Championship began with two practice sessions at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, as teams prepared for the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday. Two 90-minute sessions – FP1 and FP2 – on the 5.412-kilometer track took place amid extremely hot conditions, a marked contrast following the cold, rain-soaked Chinese Grand Prix last weekend in Shanghai.  Leading the way in FP1 was Scuderia Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, whose fastest lap of 1:32.697 was .400 of a second […]

Vettel:

Scuderia Ferrari leaves the Chinese Grand Prix with a further 28 points to its name, thanks to a second place for Sebastian Vettel and a fifth for Kimi Raikkonen. The race got underway on a damp track, with Vettel making an early stop to change from Intermediate to Soft tyres, but immediately after that the Safety Car came out because of Giovinazzi’s accident and wiped out the advantage of that tactical move, as all the drivers had to come through pit lane. Vettel then put on […]

Vettel wins the Australian GP

Sebastian Vettel won the season-opening Australian Grand Prix on Sunday, from Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. Vettel’s margin of victory was 9.975 seconds over Hamilton, while only the top 6 drivers finished the race in the same lap. This was Vettel’s and Scuderia Ferrari’s first victory since the 2015 Singapore Grand Prix. The result brings even a bigger satisfaction for the Italian squad as they did not win an Australian GP since 2007, when Kimi Raikkonen took the chequered flag in Melbourne. The win was the […]

Ferrari secures first and second row starts

There are no points given out after qualifying and the 2017 championship has only just begun, but having Sebastian Vettel on the front row in the SF70H, with a gap to pole down by half a second, does nevertheless mean something. And with Kimi Raikkonen right behind in fourth place, it shows that the overall picture for Ferrari is encouraging. “If we look back twelve months, the progress we have made is clear to see,” said Sebastian Vettel. “We are working well as a team, […]

Vettel: Ferrari was on ‘back foot’

Sebastian Vettel is not happy with how the first two practice sessions at the Circuit of the Americas went for him after a damaged wing cost him track time in FP1 and performance in FP2. The German is confident the pace will be better on Saturday as Ferrari couldn’t show its full potential on Friday.
