Vettel handed grid penalty for Japan

Sebastian Vettel has been handed a three-place grid penalty for next weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix for the first-corner collision with Nico Rosberg in Malaysia. Ferrari driver was fighting for position with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen when locked up and tagged Rosberg into a spin that sent the Mercedes driver at the back of the grid. Sebastian Vettel has praised Sepang International Circuit ahead of this weekend’s Malaysian Grand Prix following a repaving of the legendary venue with a high-performance bitumen specifically developed for use on racing circuits. Ferrari drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen were left to rue a disappointing final part of qualifying as they collected fourth and sixth positions respectively.
