'Patient' Vergne learning from Red Bull decision

Jean-Eric Vergne says that the 'big disappointment' at missing out on a Red Bull seat has led him to become a better driver. Mark Webber's retirement from Formula 1 opened up a seat with the world champions, but Red Bull opted to promote Vergne's Toro Rosso team-mate, Daniel Ricciardo. Vergne will continue with Toro Rosso in 2014 and believes that trying to understand Red Bull's decision has improved him as a driver. "It was a disappointment of course not to go to Red Bull. As […]

"I am very happy we found common ground," the 30-year-old Sutil was quoted as saying on the Sauber website, adding he had "known for a while" where he wanted to drive but negotiations took a bit longer than planned. Season review: 'First lap nutcase' earns respect

12 months ago, Romain Grosjean was under pressure like never before. Huge pressure. His move at the start of the Japanese Grand Prix on Mark Webber was clumsy to the extreme; even a driver working his way through the junior formulae would have been humiliated by such an error. He was the first lap nutcase. The lunatic for whom a first lap was akin to an iceberg for the Titanic. His season ended with a ludicrous attempt at passing Pedro de La Rosa’s HRT in […]

Caterham duo hoping for more rain

Caterham duo Charles Pic and Giedo van der Garde say that wet weather would be preferable as they bid to snatch 10th place in the Constructors' championship from Marussia. Marussia has held the position since the first race in Australia but a 13th place finish for either Pic of Van der Garde would result in Caterham jumping ahead of their rivals in a battle that has lucrative financial outcomes. Last season, Caterham overhauled Marussia in the final race of the year in Brazil, one which […]

Heikki Kovalainen has targeted a strong race day in Brazil after finishing only 14th at the United States Grand Prix. "The race didn’t go the way we wanted and I’m not sure if it was the car or if the driver was just a little rusty! We had a problem with the front wing losing downforce which […]
