Nico Rosberg says his weekend will only be 'perfect' if he manages to claim his first victory since July on Sunday in Brazil.
Rosberg stormed to his 10th pole position of the campaign at Interlagos - enough to secure the inaugural Pole trophy - having topped every single session so far this weekend.
But with a 24 point deficit to claw back against team-mate Lewis Hamilton, Rosberg acknowledges that he needs to win.
"[It's a] perfect job only if it works out tomorrow," he said.
"Up to now it’s been going well, [it's the] best place to be, but of course I need to make it happen in the race unlike in Austin for example.
"Pressure is pretty much similar, adrenalin is there, tension, it’s not been changing that much, I’m here, going for it, pushing myself to stay optimistic all the time, naturally I am anyway, learn from Austin, good to go for tomorrow."
Hamilton was just 0.033s behind Rosberg as he targets his sixth successive win.
"It was great fun, Nico did a great lap," he said. "I lost time at Turn 10 and in Turn 1 but it was great having to go out and keep fighting, that’s what it’s all about, should always be that gap, that close, pole is best place to start here but it’s a long race tomorrow, exciting with pit stops and weather."
"I’m here, I want to win like everyone else, I hope we get to have a race."
