Pirelli test driver Pedro de La Rosa has ruled himself out of the running for an HRT seat in 2011.
The 39 year old Spaniard was replaced by Nick Heidfeld after the Italian Grand Prix in 2010 and has been seeking a seat for 2011, however it will not be with HRT.
In an interview with AUTOSPORT, de La Rosa said "HRT is, for me, not an option, I don't know what the future will cover. I'm trying to find a race drive in Formula 1 as always, I will never give up.
"Pirelli are planning to do some more testing during the year. I don't know, possibly I will be running with Pirelli, a race drive somewhere, or a reserve role in Formula 1. The next few weeks will be quite important for my future."
It is thought that HRT are speaking to a number of pay drivers, including Davide Valsecchi and Tonio Liuzzi.
