Second practice for the Belgian Grand Prix has been heavily disrupted by heavy rain.
There was no track action for the first forty-eight minutes of the session until Nico Rosberg headed out in his Mercedes W03 in order to focus on practice starts.
He was soon joined by Michael Schumacher and Heikki Kovalainen, who hastily returned to the pit lane after a spin at Les Combes.
Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Jenson Button, Nico Hulkenberg and Felipe Massa also ventured out but conceded that running was pointless due to the level of standing water on track.
Massa carried out a test of his straight line top speed after an engine change was required following a failure at the end of first practice.
Despite some initial confusion, Marussia's Charles Pic was credited with the fastest lap time, albeit over a minute slower than the predicted pole time in qualifying.
