Felipe Massa says it was encouraging for Williams to prove its pace during qualifying for the British Grand Prix as both he and team-mate Valtteri Bottas outqualified their Ferrari rivals.
Massa was third, with Bottas in fourth, ahead of both Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel.
"I think it was a fantastic day for us, it’s amazing to see how many people here and it’s our home Grand Prix for the team," he said.
So [it's] great for me and Valtteri [in] third and fourth, we were fighting each other all the way through, especially in Q3, [it was a] fantastic lap in the end so I’m happy."
[I'm] looking forward to tomorrow: we can have a strong race especially this fight with Ferrari so it’s important to us to show we can be in front of both Ferraris with both cars, I’m very happy with what we did today."
