Red Bull has announced that Sebastian Vettel will leave the squad at the end of the season. The four-times world champion has been with the team since 2009 but will depart following the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where he is set to switch to Ferrari, in place of McLaren-bound Fernando Alonso. Red Bull will replace Vettel with Toro Rosso youngster Daniil Kvyat. "It is a big step and hard to make such a decision," Vettel said. "The chance to drive in F1, the first win […]

Formula 1 heads to Bahrain this week for the second of three pre-season tests. It’s been almost three weeks since the track fell silent at Jerez but Formula 1 2014 properly kicks into action in the desert. The third test, which also takes place in Bahrain, commences next Thursday which means that teams don’t have much time to fix any issues that may crop up. The long distance between Bahrain and the teams’ European factories means that flying out parts won’t be a simple task. […]

Were you as surprised as some people that pole was yours today? Nico ROSBERG: A little bit, yeah. It wasn’t really clear before who was the quickest car, especially over one lap. Reproduced by the FIA TV UNILATERAL Q. Sebastian, your fourth consecutive pole here, you must love this place. Sebastian VETTEL: Yeah, it's not bad. I'm very, very happy with today's result, I think we had a very, very smooth qualifying session, nearly perfect, so we couldn't really ask for more. The car felt fantastic from the start. We didn't really have the best start to the weekend; yesterday morning I wasn't very happy but then we seemed to get it better every time we go out, […]

Fernando Alonso has taken a magnificent home victory in what turned out to be a chaotic European Grand Prix, after Sebastian Vettel suffered a rare mechanical issue on his Red Bull. Kimi Raikkonen picked up his third podium of the season, whilst Michael Schumacher completed a late surge to take his first podium finish since 2006. The opening lap was amazingly relatively incident free, as Romain Grosjean shot up to 3rd place from 4th on the grid. However, at the front Sebastian Vettel glided into […]

Reigning World Champion Sebastian Vettel has ended the second practice session fastest for this weekends European Grand Prix, just ahead of the Force India of Nico Hulkenberg and the Sauber of Kamui Kobayashi. As the track temperature gradually rose, many drivers opted for longer race simulations in the afternoon session. The session began with hardly any immediate action on track, until Frenchman Romain Grosjean took to the track after two minutes of the session going green. Instead of completing only one installation lap, many drivers […]

Mark Webber has made Formula 1 history with his second victory around the streets of Monte-Carlo, with a controlled drive throughout the Monaco Grand Prix. Previous 2012 race winner Nico Rosberg came home 2nd, with the Ferrari of Fernando Alonso 3rd. At the start, the usual melee into the first corner ensued as Romain Grosjean made contact with Michael Schumacher and spun across the middle of the track. This backed the pack up as Kamui Kobayashi flew through the air, whilst further back the Williams […]
