Marussia team principal John Booth says his squad remains focused on retaining 10th place in the Constructors' Championship for the rest of the season. Marussia is currently ahead of Caterham in the fight for 10th place, courtesy of Jules Bianchi's 13th place in Malaysia. "We head into the second part of the season still holding 10th place in the Constructors’ Championship and we are keenly focused on what we need to do at every turn to ensure we maintain that position," said Booth. "The challenge […]

Booth: 2014 Marussia-Ferrari deal unrelated to Bianchi

Marussia team principal John Booth says their deal with Ferrari regarding 2014 power units is unrelated to Jules Bianchi's future. Bianchi is a member of the Ferrari driver academy and has raced for Marussia this season. But Booth insists that the two deals are not related and that the partnership between Ferrari and Marussia does not necessarily mean that Bianchi will remain with the team into 2014. "First of all, with Jules, he is a Ferrari young driver but the two deals are totally separate," […]

Germany win is just another race for steely Vettel

Triple world champion Sebastian Vettel is not one for tears or emotional pronouncements and even his first victory at his home German Grand Prix on Sunday was treated largely like any other race. The 26-year-old Red Bull driver has dominated Formula One for the past three years and leads the standings again by 34 points but his CV was missing a victory on home asphalt and a win in July. Now that has been chalked off it is onwards and upwards, with little fanfare and […]

Alonso pleased to fight with 'intelligent' drivers

Fernando Alonso says he was pleased to spend his Canadian Grand Prix fighting with 'intelligent' rivals. Alonso was involved in battles with Lewis Hamilton, Mark Webber and Nico Rosberg during his drive to second place. "It was nice to have these battles, particularly this race with so talented drivers, so intelligent drivers, that, you know, you fight wheel-to-wheel at 315km/h and you feel safe." "You feel you are racing and you are competing." Alonso admitted he was happier with the standard of driving in Canada […]

Vettel unsure if Raikkonen as teammate 'realistic'

Sebastian Vettel admits he is not sure if the idea of having Kimi Raikkonen as his teammate next year is "realistic". Red Bull has not ruled out replacing Mark Webber, who fell out badly with world champion Vettel over the 'Multi-21' affair, with Finn Raikkonen in 2014. Asked if he would like to share the Red Bull garage with his friend and fellow world champion Raikkonen next year, Vettel admitted: "I don't know how realistic that is. "I do get on very well with him," […]

Force India targeting consistency with speed

Force India team principal Vijay Mallya admits that his team needs to find consistency to build on a positive start to the 2013 season. The Silverstone based squad sits in fifth place in the championship, but Adrian Sutil has not scored a point since the opening round in Australia. Both cars were affected by wheel nut errors in Malaysia, while Sutil suffered a delay of a minute in the pits in Spain. The German was also hit by rivals in China and Bahrain. "We’ve scored […]

Alonso deserves 2012 and 2013 titles says di Resta

Paul di Resta has tipped Fernando Alonso to win this year's world championship. In fact, the Scot - who drives for Force India - thinks Spaniard Alonso should actually be crowned a four-time title winner at the end of the 2013 season. "He should have been champion last year," the 27-year-old, referring to Ferrari's Alonso, told Speed Week. "For me, Alonso is the champion of 2012." There is some history between di Resta and reigning triple world champion Sebastian Vettel, who is 17 points ahead […]
