Hamilton sets pace in first practice

Lewis Hamilton set the fastest time during the opening practice session for this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix. Hamilton's time of 1:25.814 was 0.183s quicker than Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg, with both drivers on the Prime tyres. The duo circulated alone for the opening part of the session and gradually lowered their pace as track conditions improved. Alonso concerned about Ferrari regression

Fernando Alonso says he is concerned that Ferrari is slipping back as Formula 1 enters the second half of the 2014 season. Kobayashi: New owners saved Caterham

Kamui Kobayashi says that Caterham was unlikely to finish the 2014 season, had the squad not been taken over. Malaysian entrepreneur Tony Fernandes, who started the operation at the end of 2009, sold the team to a group of Swiss and Middle Eastern investors prior to the British Grand Prix at the start of this month. Rossi joins Marussia as reserve driver

Alexander Rossi has joined Marussia as the team's official reserve driver. Rossi has undertaken the role for Caterham for the past couple of years but departed the team following its takeover by a group of Swiss and Middle Eastern investors. Massa adamant Magnussen at fault

Felipe Massa remains adamant that Kevin Magnussen is to blame for their clash at the start of the German Grand Prix. Magnussen and Massa made contact into the first corner, with Massa being tipped into a roll, and the Brazilian immediately laid the blame at Magnussen's door. Adrian Sutil says he has been encouraged by the improvements made by Sauber at last weekend's German Grand Prix.
