Domenicali denies political statement

Stefano Domenicali has refused to be drawn on comments that Ferrari is making a political statement in India this weekend.

The Italian team is running the Italian navy flag on the nosecone of the F2012 this weekend to pay tribute to the organisation - and allegedly help speed up a diplomatic process involving two Italian sailors who were charged with causing fatal injuries to two Indian fishermen.

A statement on Ferrari's website said that 'Ferrari pays tribute to one of the outstanding entities of our country, also in the hope that the Indian and Italian authorities will soon find a solution to the situation currently involving two sailors from the Italian Navy'.

When asked about the situation in the official press conference, Domenicali denied that the team is contravening FIA rules.

"If you look behind in the past we have done a lot of initiatives, but there is nothing I want to get into specifically because this is not the place we should do it. Honestly I don't think it is a matter of this press conference to discuss this subject. If you have any questions, we have a press office", he said.

"There is not any political intents or discussion - that is what is written".
