Rumours grow as Porsche signs F1 people

There are rumours in the paddock that Porsche is considering a Formula One foray, according to Germany's Auto Motor und Sport. The VW-brand Porsche is returning to Le Mans, but the magazine said rumours are swirling that the project is merely "a warm-up" for F1. Auto Motor und Sport said Porsche is busily signing-up personnel with F1 experience, including Fritz Enzinger, Alex Hitzinger, Mike Krack and recent Sauber engineer Urs Kuratle. FIA aware of VW's F1 foray plans for 2015

The German weekly Sport Bild is reporting that Volkswagen, the carmaker giant, is making plans to enter Formula One in 2015. Sauber team boss Peter Sauber confirmed recently that he met at the Geneva motor show with VW's chairman Martin Winterkorn. The Swiss team's chief executive Monisha Kaltenborn denied there is any more to the story. Loeb continues to dominate in Monte Carlo

F1 'not the right place' for Volkswagen

Despite the switch to V6 turbo power in 2014, Volkswagen is still not interested in formula one. The German giant's development boss Ulrich Hackenberg insists the sport is "too far away" from the world of normal road cars.
