British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC), the owners of the Silverstone racing circuit, has announced today that it has formally triggered a break clause in its contract with Formula 1. BRDC chairman John Grant has confirmed in letter to members that the Silverstone circuit will considering terminating its F1 contract from 2020. Ferrari and Force India have been fined for pit lane speeding after both Kimi Raikkonen and Sergio Perez were caught breaking the 80km/h limit during the first practice session for the British Grand Prix. Raikkonen was caught travelling at 82.5km/h, with Perez judged to have been doing 83.6km/h. Consequently, Ferrari has been fined €300, with Force India relieved of €400.
