Bianchi targets consistent Sauber challenge

Marussia driver Jules Bianchi says that the team must start to consistently challenge Sauber, if they are to show that their progress is genuine. Bianchi scored his and Marussia's maiden points at the Monaco Grand Prix after finishing in ninth place, a result which moves Marussia into ninth in the constructors' championship, ahead of Sauber and Caterham. An optimistic Bianchi says that battling Sauber, which Marussia has done on occasion in 2014, must be their aim every race. "I’m very excited for this weekend," he […]

Booth targets more Marussia points

Marussia team principal John Booth believes that his squad can fight for more top 10 finishes in 2014. Jules Bianchi finished in ninth place at last weekend's Monaco Grand Prix to record the team's first points in over four years of Formula 1 competition. Bianchi was unclassified in Australia while in Malaysia he received penalty points after colliding with Pastor Maldonado. In Bahrain, the French driver was handed a couple more penalty points after stewards deemed he was the guilty party when he made contact with the Sauber of Adrian Sutil. But Bianchi says he is lifted by Marussia's progress compared to last season. "I am hoping all my bad luck […]

Marussia targets early flyaway races

Marussia team principal John Booth believes that his squad can benefit from the potential high rate of attrition during the opening races of the 2014 season. Booth's team have yet to score a point in their Formula 1 history but he is confident that the Ferrari-powered MR03 can move them up the grid. "Although we did not meet our mileage target in pre-season testing, the positive work we did achieve, particularly last week in Bahrain, has been extremely valuable in terms of validating our calculations […]

Time for Marussia to make the breakthrough?

Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better. Samuel Beckett's often used phrase to inspire those never to give up - recently crowned Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka has the quote tattooed onto his arm - and it could be applied to Marussia. Marussia has failed to score a point in four years of racing. They’ve started 77 races and achieved a best finish of 12th place (twice). It’s hardly an awe-inspiring statistic and since the team’s inception in 2010 they […]
