Sergio Perez is confident that he can start his season "properly" in China after a difficult opening couple of rounds to the 2016 campaign. Perez was able to finish only 13th in Australia before first lap contact in Bahrain skewered his prospects of points as he came home in a lowly 16th place. The Force India driver is hopeful that he kick start his season at a venue where he has only scored points once in five attempts. "After two disappointing races I want to […]

Felipe Nasr says he hopes Sauber can address the issues which have restricted his progress so far in the 2016 season. Nasr has struggled across the opening two rounds of the campaign and qualified in last position in Bahrain before racing to a low-key 14th place. "Looking back to the Bahrain Grand Prix about a week ago, I hope that the team was able to sort out the issues I had with the C35," he said. "The objective is clearly to be more competitive." Nasr […]

Esteban Gutierrez is confident that his luck will change and he will be able to join Haas team-mate Romain Grosjean in scoring points, following a challenging start to 2016. Gutierrez, who finished in the top 10 only once during a two-year spell with Sauber, was hit by Fernando Alonso in Australia and retired from a points-paying position in Bahrain due to a brake problem. Grosjean has consequently scored all of Haas' 18 points but Gutierrez is sure that he will soon be able to contribute […]

Kevin Magnussen is sure that he can end his and Renault's points drought in a 'normal' race weekend after his opening two events were hindered by a puncture and a penalty. Magnussen was able to finish only 12th in Australia due to a first lap puncture, while in Bahrain he was forced to start from the pit lane after failing to stop at the weighbridge during practice. Magnsusen recovered to 11th position in the race at Sakhir and is confident of breaking into the top […]

Sebastian Vettel says he is 'happy' as he continued Ferrari's fine start to the 2015 season with third place in China. Vettel remains in second place in the Drivers' championship, 13 points behind Lewis Hamilton. "All in all we can be really happy, said Vettel. "It is only race three and the steps we have made so far […]

Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton has dismissed comments from team-mate Nico Rosberg that he compromised the German's hopes in the Chinese Grand Prix. Hamilton led throughout but during the second stint a radio message from Rosberg urged Hamilton to go faster, with the former believing that he was being backed towards Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel. But Hamilton, who went on to win the Chinese Grand Prix for a fourth time, downplayed such suggestions. "It was a great race and really positive to have a clean weekend throughout every […]

Will Stevens declared himself happy with the steps Manor Marussia is making as he started - and completed - his first race with the squad in China. The team did not compete in Australia and Stevens was forced out before qualifying in Malaysia due to a fuel system problem on his car. But in China Stevens beat team-mate Merhi to 15th position, improving on his 17th place finish with Caterham in Abu Dhabi last year. "A great race for me and the team and one […]

Daniel Ricciardo was left to rue a terrible start which compromised his chances of a strong result at the Chinese Grand Prix. Ricciardo started from seventh place on the grid but the anti-stall kicked in on his Red Bull RB11 and he dropped to 17th position on the opening lap. Ricciardo recovered through the field but could manage only ninth place as Red Bull's troubled start to the campaign continued. "We got into anti-stall on the start, which hasn’t happened before; we have to look […]

McLaren driver Jenson Button has been penalised after colliding with Pastor Maldonado during the closing stages of the Chinese Grand Prix. Button and Maldonado were scrapping outside of the top 10 when the Briton clipped the back of his rival under braking for Turn 1. Maldonado retired shortly after the collision while Button went on to finish in 13th position. The race stewards confirmed that Button accepted responsibility and handed him a five second time penalty, which drops him behind Carlos Sainz Jr. in the […]

Nasr placed eighth and Ericsson rounded out the top 10 to add another five points to the 14 which Sauber scored in Australia, leaving the team in fourth place in the table. "It was a great day for the team, as both cars scored points," said Nasr. "I am very pleased for everyone. It was not an […]

Sergio Perez says he was encouraged by Force India's progress despite leaving China empty-handed after he finished the race in 11th position. Perez spent much of the race battling towards the back of the midfield but was unable to creep into the points. "We raced very hard today, but in the end it wasn’t quite enough to come away with some points," he said. "With the strategy we looked at all the opportunities and switched to three stops quite early in the race, which was […]
