If there is a tie, the number of second places will be taken into account, followed by third places and so on, until a winner is confirmed. Bianchi and De la Rosa to test for Ferrari in Bahrain

Ferrari is one of four teams set to participate in the test, which is being organised by tyre supplier Pirelli. The data management and the daily schedule will be defined by Pirelli, so that no one team gains a competitive advantage for 2014. Spaniard de la Rosa entered over 100 races in Formula 1 between […]

Season review: 'First lap nutcase' earns respect

12 months ago, Romain Grosjean was under pressure like never before. Huge pressure. His move at the start of the Japanese Grand Prix on Mark Webber was clumsy to the extreme; even a driver working his way through the junior formulae would have been humiliated by such an error. He was the first lap nutcase. The lunatic for whom a first lap was akin to an iceberg for the Titanic. His season ended with a ludicrous attempt at passing Pedro de La Rosa’s HRT in […]

The 28-year-old, supported by state-owned Venezuelan oil and gas giant PDVSA, announced at the start of the month he was quitting the team, leading to talks with Lotus and Sauber. F1's biggest spender is Red Bull says Whitmarsh

After Ferrari denied it is the biggest spender in Formula One, McLaren says the most financially powerful team in pitlane is actually Red Bull. Like Ferrari, Red Bull denies it, but McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh insists "everyone knows" that the energy drink-owned team - the dominant world champions for the last four seasons consecutively - spends the most. In fact, Whitmarsh said that meteoric level of spending has actually "distorted the sport". And he said his counterpart Christian Horner's claim that Red Bull doesn't spend […]

Prior to the start of the 2013 Formula 1 season, Max Chilton was in the unusual position of having had three team-mates even before flying out to the first round in Australia. Marussia veteran Timo Glock agreed to depart in order for the team to improve their […]

Champion Vettel signs off in style: Brazilian GP review

2013 world champion Sebastian Vettel remains undefeated since the summer break as he stormed to his ninth successive victory, ahead of outgoing Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber and Ferrari's Fernando Alonso. The first test of 2014 at Jerez begins in a little over two months and every single team is determined to get it right; fail and the consequences could be felt for more than just the […]
