Vettel believes pole was within reach

Reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel was left frustrated after he believed he allowed pole position to slip through his grasp during qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix. Vettel, who has won the last three editions of the event, set the fourth fastest time, just over two-tenths of a second down on pole sitter Lewis Hamilton. But he reckoned a scruffy lap prevented him from emerging on top. "I’m not happy with that final lap, I was pushing a bit too hard and didn’t get it […]

"It is a pity that qualifying was not as good as we expected," he said. "But on the other hand, we have had issues with the power unit and the energy management since […]

Rosberg claimed provisional pole but was promptly usurped by Hamilton, who recorded the fastest time by 0.007s. "Seven thousandths when I think back at the lap is nothing! Williams sure of Singapore progression

Williams pair Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas believe that their positions during free practice for the Singapore Grand Prix do not reflect the squad's potential for this weekend's race. Massa was 17th fastest while Bottas was over half a second further back in 18th, with the Brazilian almost two seconds down on pace setter Lewis Hamilton. But both drivers are sure of improvements prior to Saturday's qualifying session. "It was a very difficult day today as we were struggling a lot to balance the car […]

Hamilton searching for lost performance

Lewis Hamilton says he is hoping to recover lost performance in his Mercedes W05 prior to Saturday's qualifying session for the Singapore Grand Prix. "Today was a work in progress," he said. "We made some changes between first and second practice and, whether it was those changes or the track itself, the balance didn't feel right. […]
