Verstappen: No reason to let Sainz through

Max Verstappen says there was no reason for him to allow Toro Rosso team-mate Carlos Sainz Jr. through during the closing stages of the Singapore Grand Prix. Verstappen stalled at the start and dropped a lap but was able to recover during the Safety Car periods and wound up in eighth, closely behind Force India's Sergio Perez. Nico Hulkenberg was left perplexed after he was given a grid penalty for the Japanese Grand Prix following contact with Felipe Massa in Singapore.
