International Tribunal decision to be announced on Friday

The verdict of the International Tribunal will be announced on Friday. Edward Glasgow QC confirmed at the end of the seven hour hearing that the panel's verdict will come 'by tomorrow'. The FIA says that it did not give Mercedes the green light to test. Mercedes conceded that giving their drivers plain helmets was wrong, but remain adamant that the test was undertaken by Pirelli. Mercedes: Test conducted by Pirelli

Mercedes's lawyer Paul Harris QC has responded to accusations that their test following the Spanish Grand Prix was in breach of the sporting regulations. At the International Tribunal in Paris, Harris - speaking on behalf of Mercedes - says the team cannot be punished as the test was conducted by Pirelli. "This was not a test undertaken by Mercedes. FIA sets out case against Mercedes

The FIA insists that Mercedes did not have permission to run a 2013 car during their test following the Spanish Grand Prix. "Whether or not [Charlie] Whiting consented, it is irrelevant, because testing in relation to Article 22 is a breach, unless it [a rule change] is granted by the World Motor Sport Council," said the FIA's lawyer, Mark Howard QC, according to Autosport.
