Marko says Kvyat is 'no risk, no fun' choice

Dr Helmut Marko has characterised the promotion of Red Bull junior Daniil Kvyat for 2014 as a "no risk, no fun" strategy. When asked on Tuesday about the 19-year-old Russian's leap straight from GP3 to Toro Rosso, McLaren managing director Jonathan Neale said it was a "very big step". McLaren is bringing new Formula Renault 3.5 champion Kevin Magnussen and runner-up Stoffel Vandoorne through the ranks, but Neale suggested the move to the new turbo V6 rules next year is a big enough challenge "without […]

Members of F1's travelling circus have been admitted to hospital in Austin, the Swiss newspaper Blick reports. The report said three members of the press from Portugal, Denmark and England respectively, and "some members" of the Red Bull team, are in hospital. Rumours suggest the Briton involved is the well-known photographer Keith Sutton, while the other two press-men are journalists Peter Nygaard and Luis Vasconcelos. The newspaper claimed they have contracted infectious diseases after being bitten by mosquitoes in India late last month. During the […]

Fernando Alonso would be happy with third in qualifying

Fernando Alonso has said that he would take third place in qualifying, considering the pace of the Red Bull drivers. Alonso was third fastest in second practice. On Saturday, Germany's match against Portugal was set to kick off just minutes after qualifying. When asked a mundane question about his helmet design immediately after taking pole on Saturday, an impatient Sebastian Vettel smiled: "It (the answer) might take too long ..." […]

The indicators of Räikkönen's development

Kimi Räikkönen and Kaj Lindström left out Mexico. The new ICE1Racing team will now take part in its second rally in the World Rally Championship. Many drivers in the top ten had problems in Mexico. If Räikkönen had been able to produce the same faultless performance as in the opening round of the World Rally Championship in Sweden, the final result would have surely been good. - Admittedly, there could have been a good result there. Although there is a bit of a handicap because […]
