From second row to double podium finish

Scuderia Ferrari probably got the most they could out of a difficult Sunday at Hungaroring with Sebastian Vettel finishing second and Kimi Raikkonen third. However, there has to be a question mark about what might have been if no hesitation at the pit stop or if it hadn’t rained on Saturday afternoon. Germany gave Ferrari a cold shower

A possible win for Ferrari at the German GP became an open wound as Sebastian Vettel retired from lead on lap 51 after making a mistake in the rain at turn 13. Hamilton and Raikkonen fastest in Friday sessions

The seventh round of the 2017 Formula One World Championship began with two practice sessions on Friday at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, as teams prepared for the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday. Two 90-minute sessions – FP1 and FP2 – were primarily spent building grip into the semi-street circuit. With the infrequent use of the roads on which the track is based, the asphalt proved to be very green and it made traction hard to come by. Leading the way in FP1 was Mercedes […]

Did Ferrari favoured Vettel over Raikkonen?

Looking back over the last few years’ Monaco Grands Prix, a pattern emerges, where a strategy call has decided the outcome and some controversial decisions have been at the heart of it. Last year was Red Bull’s misstep on Ricciardo’s strategy and then an error in the pit stop itself, in 2015 Lewis Hamilton lost the race on a bad strategy call, in 2014 he was angry because Mercedes stopped both cars on the same lap behind the Safety Car, giving him no chance to […]

Raikkonen:

Kimi Raikkonen has failed to finish the Spanish Grand Prix after being involved in a collision on the opening lap. Raikkonen reckons he did not see the footage of the incident, but is sure that he left Bottas enough room going into the corner. "I got hit […]

Ferrari secures first and second row starts

There are no points given out after qualifying and the 2017 championship has only just begun, but having Sebastian Vettel on the front row in the SF70H, with a gap to pole down by half a second, does nevertheless mean something. And with Kimi Raikkonen right behind in fourth place, it shows that the overall picture for Ferrari is encouraging. “If we look back twelve months, the progress we have made is clear to see,” said Sebastian Vettel. “We are working well as a team, […]
