Bianchi family launches legal action

The family of Jules Bianchi have launched legal action in the United Kingdom against the FIA, the Formula One Group and the Marussia team. Bianchi sustained a diffuse axonal injury at the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix when his car left the circuit and struck a recovery vehicle, which was tending to the stranded car of Adrian Sutil. Minute's silence for Bianchi in Hungary

Formula 1 will pay tribute to Jules Bianchi with a minute's silence prior to this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix. Bianchi passed away on Friday, having spent nine months in hospital following a crash at last year's Japanese Grand Prix, from which he never regained consciousness. A minute's silence will be held on Sunday at 13:45 local time, prior to the start of the next round of the season at the Hungaroring.

Bianchi laid to rest in Nice

Jules Bianchi's funeral has taken place in his home city of Nice, in Southern France, following his death on Friday. Bianchi sustained serious injuries in a crash at last year's Japanese Grand Prix and remained in a coma for nine months, before passing away last week at the age of 25. FIA to retire Bianchi's number 17

The FIA has announced that the number 17 has been retired from Formula 1, following the death of Jules Bianchi. Bianchi selected number 17 when the sport introduced driver numbers at the start of the 2014 campaign, prior to his ultimately fatal accident in Japan last October.
