Team boss Eric Boullier on Thursday played down Lotus' decision to sit out the opening test of the 2014 pre-season. The Enstone based team finished last season a competitive fourth, but also grappling publicly with financial matters. So the admission this week that Lotus will not be at Jerez, where most other teams will run their all-new V6-powered 2014 cars for the first time, raised renewed alarm bells about Lotus' financial health and competitiveness going forwards. But Frenchman Boullier said other teams will also be […]

Conflicting fortunes for race organisers

Formula 1 will return to Austria and head to Russia in 2014. But for New Jersey, the situation is somewhat cloudier. A new season is slowly creeping over the horizon, with Formula 1’s workforce frantically preparing the new breed of machines that will hit the track in Jerez in three weeks’ time. There will be conflicting fortunes: someone has to finish top of the class and another will end up with the wooden spoon. But for now, there is some anxious work ongoing. It’s a […]

F1 2013 by Codemasters review

The fourth iteration of Codemasters’ Formula 1 game has been released this week as the franchise focuses not only on the 2013 season but also on some classic content. As with 2012’s version, the game begins with the young driver test at the Yas Marina Circuit – even though the real one took place at Silverstone - where players […]
