Season review: F1 2013 - the year in quotes

As part of our season review, here is the 2013 Formula 1 season from the mouths of those involved in the sport: the humorous, the memorable, the radio messages, and those, with hindsight, that some surely regret... “That competitiveness is going to keep growing and I guess we'll see more of it this year. Drivers to play bigger role in 2014 says Alonso

Fernando Alonso hopes F1 drivers have a bigger role to play next year, as the wave of radical new regulations hit the 2014 grid. This year, as Pirelli's heavily degrading tyres set the tone, drivers often had to take a back seat to full throttle as they nursed their cars through race strategies, at the beck and call of engineers' informed advice. But Ferrari's Alonso thinks the new rules for 2014, featuring the introduction of turbo V6s and fuel limitations, could play in favour of […]

Maldonado to Lotus highlights flaws in F1's model

The announcement that Pastor Maldonado will race for Lotus in 2014 was not wholly unexpected but it was greeted with universal disdain from Formula 1 fans. Maldonado will move across from Williams and join the affable Romain Grosjean in black and gold as the sport enters a new era.
