Vettel had no warning over tyre failure

Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel says he had no previous warning over the tyre failure which brought his Austrian Grand Prix to a premature end. Palmer, Haryanto, Nasr penalised; Hulkenberg cleared

Renault's Jolyon Palmer, Manor's Rio Haryanto and Sauber's Felipe Nasr have all been handed grid penalties for the Austrian Grand Prix after failing to slow sufficiently for yellow flags in Q1. The trio were deemed to have now slowed sufficiently when the yellow flags were displayed after Toro Rosso's Carlos Sainz Jr. suffered an engine failure during the closing moments of the session. Nico Rosberg hailed the efforts of his Mercedes squad as they repaired his damaged W07 Hybrid in time for qualifying at the Austrian Grand Prix.
