A returning Kamui Kobayashi looks set to join rookie Marcus Ericsson, marking a second consecutive all-new driver lineup for Caterham in 2014. Lopez plays down Lotus collapse fears

Marussia retains Chilton for 2014 season

Marussia has confirmed that Max Chilton will continue to race for the team in 2014. Chilton made his Formula 1 debut for Marussia in 2013, and finished all 19 races with a best result of 14th place in Monaco. Chilton will continue to race alongside Jules Bianchi, who also made his Formula 1 debut for Marussia in 2013. Caterham not ruling out Kobayashi for F1 return

Kamui Kobayashi appears imminently close to securing his return to Formula One. Gutierrez completes Sauber 2014 line-up

Mexican Esteban Gutierrez will race with Swiss-based Sauber for a second season next year with Russian teenager Sergey Sirotkin signed as test driver, the Formula One team announced on Saturday. Esteban Gutierrez is set to secure one of the four last race seats on the 2014 grid. FIA confirms driver and power unit penalties for 2014

The FIA has confirmed driver and power unit penalties that can be awarded from the start of next season. Penalty points can be applied to a driver's Super Licence and they will remain with them for 12 months. 'In accordance with Article 16.3, the stewards may impose penalty points on a driver’s Super Licence', read the FIA's sporting regulations.
