Vettel concedes Mercedes 'quick' in Spain

Sebastian Vettel accepts that Ferrari is not as close to Mercedes as it has been in recent races, after Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton locked out the front row of the grid in Spain. Barcelona extends F1 deal until 2019

Formula 1 will continue to visit the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya after officials confirmed that its contract has been extended. Its current deal expired at the end of 2016 but ahead of the track's 25th Formula 1 race this weekend it was announced that the sport will stay at the circuit until the 2019 season. Lotus confirms brake problem for Maldonado

Lotus has absolved Pastor Maldonado from blame for the crash which ended their pre-season testing programme prematurely, citing a brake failure on the E23 Hybrid. Maldonado went off at Turn 4 shortly after lunch on the final day of testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and damaged the front wing and suspension, preventing the team from being able to emerge on track during the rest of the day. Valtteri Bottas set the quickest time for Williams as Formula 1’s pre-season testing programme concluded at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Sunday.
