Mercedes says it would be willing to give Robert Kubica a Formula One test. The German marque this week declined to comment on reports the Pole has been driving at the wheel of Mercedes' sophisticated F1 simulator at Brackley. Williams clarifies reports of financial loss

Williams has played down reports it suffered a financial loss last year, insisting instead that it is gearing up to expand. Listed on the Frankfurt stock exchange, the British team this week revealed a pre-tax loss of almost $8 million last year, having turned a profit in 2011. HRT cars to be used in BOSS GP

HRT's Formula 1 cars will be used in this season's BOSS GP Series. Teo Martin, a Spanish businessman, acquired two of the 2011 cars and their equipment after the team folded at the end of last season. HRT raced in Formula 1 between 2010 and 2012 but failed to score a point. It is hoped the cars will be prepared by the end of this month. Kubica finishes sixth in Azores, confirms F1 simulator use

Former Formula 1 driver Robert Kubica claimed sixth place on his second gravel outing for Citroen. The Pole had led the event during the early stages but backed off when heavy fog hit the Portuguese stages. Kubica had slipped to sixth place when he suffered a double roll in his Citroen DS3. Schumacher to demonstrate W02 at Nordschleife

Seven times Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher will drive Mercedes's 2011 car around the Nurburgring Nordschleife on May 19th. Pirelli to change hard compound tyre

Pirelli has resisted pressure to radically alter their tyre compounds, although a tweaked hard tyre will be introduced at next month's Spanish Grand Prix. Bahrain could celebrate its tenth anniversary as a Formula One host by staging next year's race under lights, circuit chairman Zayed Alzayani has revealed.
