Here's my F1-nized version of the popular Christmas song to tide us racing fans over until the start of the winter tests...

Apparently Mallya has broken Hulkenberg's contract and Force India will stick with Sutil and di Resta. That's what Saward says...

I got told about the STR news an hour ago, but was under obligation not to release the story until it was official :p

Who told you?

Anyone else find it funny that Tost described this as an 'early decision'?!

Me annoyed :<>:

I hope, they didn't tell the drivers now, when they don't have a chance whatsoever of finding a ride.

It is a shame to drop such good drivers. specially Alguersuari. :-(
I wish luck to Vergne and Ricciardo, and hope Buemi and Jaime find their way in the motorsport... Like Mar said, at this point, it will be hard to find a seat.

Whoa that's harsh :( I think both of them did enough this year to deserve a seat, but if STR were looking for the next Sebastien Vettel, then I guess they were not that

I just find it odd to dump a 21 year old who was getting better... Hopefully he'll stick around and not be out forever.

But hadn't he signed anything with Gravity?

The guy has contacts with all the teams or what?

Such a pity for Alguersuari, he is just 21 ::oops:;

Back to work now.

Can you get me to the Fifi party? :p

Yeah, well my view anyway:
You have to question STR's development of drivers. Too much pressure? Because so far their hit rate has been pretty low if you look at the list of 'failures'. Yes Scott Speed sucked, but while Sebastien Buemi was average, Jaime Alguersuari was improving. He is 21 for god sake. No-one thought Vettel was special until Valencia 2008 when according to Ascanelli, something clicked. What if that hadn't happened for Jaime yet? Most F1 drivers don't even start until they're Jaime's age. Its a shame.

Maybe what we should have is this:

The top 5 teams field two cars every race.

The bottom 7 teams field three cars and they have a separate session. The top 2 from every team go through to qualifying. That way the drivers stay in F1 but we still have 24 racing.

I already thought Vettel was something special time before he drove his first F1 race

But I was living in Germany at the moment, I suppose I had some privileged information :p
