No words can even begin to describe how awesome that would be.

Nick Heidfeld will race for Sauber from the Singapore GP, replacing Pedro de la Rosa

De la Rosa says he is surprised.

Poor Pedro. He wasn't doing that bad a job, but Sauber must be frustrated with this year's results after having scored a win and numerous podiums back in the BMW days. I doubt Heidfeld will match the flashes of brillance of his rookie teammate, but he should be a more consistent qualifier and bring home some good points on a regular basis. FI and Williams are out of their reach in the constructor championship, though.

Will be interested to see how quickly Heidfeld adapts to the Sauber, and also how Kobayashi fares against him. My beloved Kamui has consistently pummelled De la Rosa in races but Heidfeld should be quicker, I hope Kamui gets the better of him and shows what a talent he is. And continues his mix of quick driving, spectacular overtaking moves and impressive blocking of quicker cars.

It won't happen, he can't be arsed with F1 anymore. There's a lot to admire in that.

Why would he approach an F1 team if he "can't be arsed", though? His management team contacted Renault, not the other way around.

Petrov's race engineer, Mark Slade, is also the guy that was Kimi's race engineer at McLaren...

I doubt that's true, or of it is it may have been taken out of context.

Mercedes never intended to replace Heidfeld after they let him go so that he could test for Pirelli.

:n

Spanish media : rumours that De La Rosa is an option for HRT in 2011. Possibly alongside Javier Villa. Other rumours suggest that Jacques Villeneuve will buy into the team and drive one of the cars. Then there's Pastor Maldonado as well...

Jerome d'Ambrosio has said he will drive for Virgin in 2011 if he can get 5 million Euros together
