Broke my leg
Hey guys,
I'm back home from the hospital yesterday. Broke my ankle trying to do an overhead kick during training
Had no pain whatsoever. Only the night after surgery a bit. In two weeks will get new lightweight bandage which will help me to move more easily. Thanks for your kind messages, saw them in the random conversation. If you wanna contact me, just tweet, cause using my laptop is not easy as I experience while writing this.
Full recovery will take 2-3 months
Take care.
Joost

Hope you're OK, that sounds bad, get well. Though it says there that your location is Mars, so next time don't try playing football and doing overhead kicks in zero-gravity!

Re: Broke my leg
Hello there,
Next thursday (the 17th) I will get lightweight bandage, so I it will be easier for me to move, and maybe I will get some exercises to do... But I still cannot stand on it for another 5 weeks, which is about the week after the first GP in Bahrein I have discovered.

Re: Broke my leg
So here I am again, went back to the hospital yesterday (exactly 2 weeks after I had broken my ankle) to change bandage. The plaster bandage went of and I saw the scar on my leg... Pretty scary it was: it's from my ankle up about 10 cm... And they had to remove the stitches (14) from that scar.. PAIN! During surgery that's where they've put screws in some metal, to support my bone recovering. It's necessary to take out the biggest screw, when that one is out of my leg, I can start walking again. In 4 weeks (!, 17th of March) I have to go back to the hospital for new photos of my leg to see how it is recovering. Than after another 2 weeks (!) they will take out that 1 screw during a small surgery.
Now I have some sort of sock which I have to put on and wear the whole day, and have to take it off when I'm going to bed. It's quite difficult for me to find a good position to sleep, but that'll be routine for me in a few days. But I always keep Robert Kubica in my mind, who must be in a much tougher condition than I'm in.
Take care, Joost.
