Post by Sanredrose » 05 Apr 2009, 20:58

Well we have quite a lot of apps in our F1 Services section. Any possibility of our own F1 live timing ????

Yeah watching it in formula1.com or f1-live.com is good .. But if we can have one with a chat window on the side it would be cool .. We do have a lot of apps, i thought this could one nice addition to what we have !

I have been working on chat system ..special thing was everything should be posted in forum as posts which was discussed with iceman1 ..so its was taking too much time for me as nonprofessional :zz: *Ajax + posting module + xml output viewtopic* so i decide to stop development on this and started to work on some other stuff :p

About f1.com live_timing ...it cannot be in frames ..as applet checks for url and if url is not equal to f1.com or formula1.com then it redirects to f1.com :n

F1-live live timing is possible :zz: ..but its not very cool IMO.

I'm looking for some way to watch the live timing myself because I watch all the races at least three times and Live timing only works once. I watch them live and the other two times while I am on the forums correcting people on what they remember happening. Today I'm working on the problems caused by the announcers on SpeedTV talked about "team orders" on lap 15 before anyone even pitted and never brought it up again. Now the forum I'm currently calling home is lit up with all kinds of people crying wolf and I'm trying to find records of the lap times to prove them all wrong... In the end I'm going through my TIVOed race and picking off the ticker times... It woudl be really nice to have the ability to delay the next lap on your action replay by a set ammount of time... but it isn't up untill well after the race is completed. It is the closest thing I can find to a replay of Live timing anywhere on the web. Any chance that you can simply record the data stream from F1.com, reformat it and throw it into a new applet? It would be really cool to be able to have live timing for the races I have on my DVR and the ones I've downloaded from weeks and years past.

On the live chat front... I'm the guy running the Live F1 chats for SpeedTV.com and we use coveritlive.com Right now I am running them all by myself and we had almost a thousand posts today. It is REALLLLLY easy and free. I would highly suggest it for a live chat client. If anyone needs some help seting it up msg me and I'll do my best to help out. Your site rocks, your secondary applets are AMAZING and I look forward to a long relationship in here...

Sorry for late reply. Its good to see SpeedTv guy here :)

About live timing replay, few sites have that feature but it usually take 2-3 week.I believe they do it manually using fia's media lap time sheet. That's hell lot of work  ..f1.com's LIVE TIMING ARCHIVE should have been doing this but its nothing more than result  ... i know few agency's which provide sports stats service and including live commentary & timing ..but its toooooo costly :zz:

We tried coveritlive few months ago ...good but not flexible.

F1Zone.net Live timing is actually insane, even if it has been copied from somewhere (i saw it last year somewhere, might have been on the times website)

it's a paid software, you can buy it and add it to your website/forum
