Well we have some good news.

But the good news in that is, that his helmet seems to be undamaged, at least from that side of it.
But yes, that does look pretty horrid.

That's very good news. It could maybe, just maybe could be "only" scull fracture? Like I said, maybe. As there hasn't been any talks about brain trauma, just head injury serious one, but nothing about brains... In which case, it wouldn't affect his career what-so ever. Though his season is propably over.

Don't speculate. He has not regained consciousness since the impact. All that is known is that he never stopped breathing spontaneously, but no further information about the extent of the possible trauma has been disclosed.

The picture is very scary. Where did the top half of that car go? Was it maybe a rear impact? I can't imagine how violent it must have been.

Latest news from L'Equipe is that there will be no further updates until tomorrow (hospital).

I'm only speculating, but from what I can work out - and what Sutil said - his car must have gone front-first into the barriers, before bouncing back into the recovery vehicle - bear in mind I think the recovery vehicle would have been higher than in the photos as at the time I believe it was carrying Sutil's car.

I've read somewhere that the impact of the crash was so fierce (50G) that the recovery car dropped Sutil's car!

And unfortunately, even if the helmet looks intact, it doesn't mean anything. According to the media Bianchi hit the recovery car sideways, which means that any visible damage to the helmet would be on the left side. But let's just hope you are right and it's "just" a fracture.

Official News was that the police confiscated the Car. So i doubt there will be any Infos about how massive the Crash was regarding to G-forces, because nobody will have the Blackbox Data but the police, and they didnt give out any official info.
On another note, i didnt read through the whole Topic, so i dont know if it was mentioned before, but i think the most horrible thing about the whole Accident is the fact that, even tho there where a hell lot of unexpected things working together, would have been avoidable. The FIA was discussing about starting the GP earlier due to the Weather. But Bernie was more interessted in getting enough Dollars into his pocket with a wet Race and untouched Airing times, then to go for Savety and start the Race earlier. Again, that Accident was very "special", as something like this wont happen again or could not have been predicted to happen. But, what was predictable, was the Weather. Dont get me wrong, i dont want to Question wet Races at all, and this Crash has nothing to do with a normal Wet Race. but when u have the chance to avoid horrible weather conditions, then for gods sake, do it. And get that senil, old Moron Ecclestone out of Business.

Sky TV were saying it was the decision of the track owners (Honda) not Bernie. They were concerned about fans getting there on time and meeting TV schedules which are difficult for a lot of companies to move.

I doubt the tractor dropped Sutil's car. It looks like Bianchi went under the 'high' rear end of the tractor.
I hope it leads to come sort of cowling or cushioning on the recovery vehicles rather than re-opening the debate on cockpit covers or roll bars.

Actually the driver tracker said Bianchi left the circuit at 213km/h and collided with the JCB at 50G.
