Yep the race was good. To have such an interesting race at Bahrain is really encouraging.

At some points it gets dull when the cars are aligned in pairs... but still, definitely the best race of the season.

Still haven't changed those damn noses??!! :s

Rosberg is going to have to learn there are no freebies if he plans to be a champion. Lewis will eat him alive if needs be.

Ricciardo got 10 place grid penalty for unsafe release and Maldonado gets 5 place.
What a joke !?

To be fair, a loose wheel in the pitlane is much more likely to kill someone than a car doing a barrel roll on the track nowadays.

Not that I agree with whatever reasoning let Maldonado escape an instant race ban for that one.

Unfair to Nico, man. He was the fastest guy out there, at least 8 for him.

I gave him a 7 for several reasons:
- He had the car hooked up, but was not in front
- He had a big tyre advantage and yet could not pass Lewis.

For me, it was not a good drive from him, even if they battled.

His attempts were messy but still, it was not a bad drive.

What I meant is Ricciardo got an unfair penalty for something which is not his fault, and Maldonado got only five place grid drop for something is his own fault.

I agree that a loose wheel in the pitlane is much more likely to kill someone than a car doing a barrel roll on the track nowadays, but Maldonado can cause a serious injuries to someone.
In 2005, despite the presence of yellow flags in Monaco, he didn't slow down and seriously injured a marshal.

The FIA should seriously think to change the penalty for the unsafe release, may be taking some points from the team in the constructors championship, that way they will not penalize the driver. As for Maldonado he should get one race ban so that he can change his driving.

I completely agree with phil on the 7 for Rosberg. As you all have said he was the fastest guy out there, but critically he didn't win a race he should have won.

What I find most alarming is his racecraft to be honest. We've seen it a lot last year -whether in GP2 or Vettel's move on Alonso - that having the undercut out of T4 leaves you in a very strong position coming into T5; the inside of a fast corner. In the race I remember seeing at least two cars, namely Perez and Hulk, that have used that move to their advantage, yet Rosberg goes deep TWICE into T4 only to get undercut and then left out to dry by Lewis.

His performance was a standard reflection of the car's capabilities. He needs to do more if he's to challenge Lewis for the title this year.

@tderias
Vettel used that move both on Alonso and Rosberg. Great place to overtake.
