I agree with most of those, but I think you were a bit harsh on Vergne, writing a whole paragraph about a single mistake in qualifying. :p

So basically, Niki Lauda's get out of jail card is effectively what has happened minus the £1million fine; Everyone gets a 2013 car and race driver test, wrap on the knuckles, merc loses young drivers.

Shouldve just done that in the first place to be honest.

Looked like Mercedes have sorted out their tyre problems (with a little help from Pirelli of course),there was no sign of excessive tyre degradation in silverstone where there are so many fast sweeping corners, and Lewis was on a 2 stop strategy and yet was hunting down Alonso at the end of the race. They can fight for WCC and who knows, they may win it.
A craven can be as brave as any man, when there is nothing to fear. And we all do our duty, when there is no cost to it. How easy it seems then, to walk the path of honor.

Good decision. Somewhat levels out the Mercedes test.

Mercedes has more points already than they did in 2012.

But McLaren has 37 points after 8 races. It took them just 1 race in 2012 to score 40 points.

Sometimes I like to pretend Mercedes is really McLaren this year and McLaren is really Mercedes. I'm not a huge fan of the team, but McLaren not fighting for wins every race doesn't feel like F1 to me.

Anyone know why the tyres were changed without consent? I mean, the metal band/wiring in the tyres aren't there anymore. Could they have stopped the explosions?

What would make this point more humourous / trolling (depending on your stance) is if you follow it up with quotes of people's reactions from forums around the world when Lewis announced he was going to Mercedes late in 2012.

Clarkson was, however, less impressed with Hamilton’s move from McLaren to Mercedes, comparing it with leaving Manchester United in order to play for West Ham.
See? West Ham are obviously better than Manchester United...
