a great drive by massa and kobayashi.
vettel with his usual 10-11 style of just pulling off and maintaining the lead.
grosjean.. sigh. i've a feeling that time is running out for him to prove he can get to the end of the first lap.
and it was so promising initially for kovalainen too haha.

Don't think Alonso's doing any favours saying that to be honest.
Re: 2012 Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix
Too bad for Fernando that he did a "Spa Grosjean" ruining his own race. Kimi had nowhere to go. Hurts the title fight big time, I don't see Alonso winning anymore. Boring race in the front with vettel and massa. I was exciting with Koba and button though. Grosjean was not really in the moment I think. He probably was thinking too hard: Don't crash, don't crash" and ended up crashing ironically. Not a good move. And hitting an already cranky webber is not smart media-wise. ;)

Just watching the start again and something struck me. I still think it's Grosjean's fault, but look at Webber's line in Turn 2 and how much he dropped off of Kobayashi. I just wonder if there was a small issue there.
Re: 2012 Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix
Even Marko has spoken out. Didn't think he'd care as it's Webber.
But he criticised Grosjean!

Re: 2012 Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix
I watched the slow replay of Raikkonen/Alonso accident. It seems that Raikkonen went on the grass, lost control a little bit of his car then touched the rear tyre of Alonso's car. But Alonso forced him to go there

Re: 2012 Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix
Alonso was over aggressive at the start, but you look at it from his onboard and it seems like going into turn 1, Kimi is effectively behind him and he is concentrating on the corner itself. I think it's pointless to be that stubborn in your driving when you only have the tip of your front wing in line with the rear wheels of a car ahead. Definitely an avoidable incident from Raikkonen's perspective, but definitely a correct judgement by the stewards not to penalise anyone because Alonso was just way too aggressive in chopping off Kimi.
Tough luck though, championship is still on, although looks way more difficult now. Great drive by Felipe, and for once they don't mess up his strategy. That Ferrari was as fast as the McLarens and Saubers today. Vettel though was in a league of his own. Pole to flag, but has to be said that his machinery is leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else's, at least in Suzuka. Bring on Korea!

shame Perez made a mistake while trying to overtake Hamilton. case of trying too hard ?
Hamilton missed a great opportunity to get back into the championship today as well.

Case of being too ambitious I'd say. Everything seems to be going his way this past week, but trying to overtake Lewis Hamilton at that hairpin is just pushing it imodarrenyc wrote:shame Perez made a mistake while trying to overtake Hamilton. case of trying too hard ?

before that race, Alonso said that he is in the best going-in position of the championship contenders because he is the only one to be able to afford a DNF in the last 6 races. Well now he had that one DNF and he is highly under pressure because it's more than likely that Red Bull has the better package for the last 5 races. I also wouldn't write off Hamilton. 42 points in 5 races are possible to catch up.
