Well yes, but they should have sat down with the Renault engineers and made sure that something like that won't happen again. Red Bull pays a lot of money to Renault, but if failing alternators are the reason Red Bull don't win a championship this year, then it's daylight robbery by the French manufacturer.

2 - Best Team: Ferrari

3 - Best Overtake: Perez on Kimi

4 - Best Moment: Checo's climb through the field and onto the podium

5 - Worst Driver: Just for the sake of a different answer, Jerome d'Ambrosio. It would have been great to see him step up to the plate in his return to the track, but he was the last car on the lead lap and qualified quite poorly. Maybe I'm being too tough on him, but I was hoping for something more.

6 - Worst Team: It feels strange calling Red Bull the "worst team," but not having a single car finish in a dry weather race is poor for sure. They'll be back, but 2 top tier cars failing to cross the line is a dubious distinction.

7 - Best Rookie: Charles Pic once again out drives Timo Glock.

8 - Biggest Surprise: Red Bull with two drivers failing to reach the finish was shocking for sure.

9 - General Comment: With recent comments from Ferrari brass and Massa's improvements in performance, I'm starting to wonder if Massa will actually stay with Ferrari after the season. I don't take Luca di Montezemolo's comments about Perez not being ready for a position alongside Alonso totally serious, but if Massa improves and they don't want Checo, who else is there? If Massa can continue to show at least some worth, he'll might be worth keeping. Time will tell...

Its nothing to do with RB though. RB dont design the engine or its components, Renault do. The fact its happened in Valencia with Grosjean and Vettel, D'ambrosio and Vettel in Monza, im sure its happened a few other times and it also happened to the 2010 Pirelli Renau test car.

Renault need to find out why it overheats at very hot temperatures; there wasnt an alternator failure at Bahrain though, which is puzzling. But ultimately its upto Renault to sort it. Monza was supposed to have a newer more resillient spec of alternator and it still failed.

The surprising thing is that even the Pirelli Test Car had an alternator issue. No points for guessing but the engine is a renault engine.

Yes, that was a Renault engine with a alternator in 2010 specification.
