I'd take him aside in the next drivers briefing. Problem is he effectively has a 5 year contract and he's into Year 2.

He can't keep doing this. A ban is too much, but they need to sort him out a little bit. His reputation hasn't changed - he's always been very fast but inconsistent/erratic.

In many ways that's a problem. For example, his win in Spain acts as a justification to him that his driving style is fine. It was a curse and a blessing.

I wouldn't describe him as inconsistent. He consistently crashes. :p

To me he never looks like learning and improving. When Grosjean made mistakes this season I thought he'll learn from it and iron these out. I just don't think Maldonado ever will.

True :p

29 points this year; 25 of them in Barcelona...

Anyway. Sniff - It was noisy, it was chaotic, by the end red was the dominant colour. Enough of Timo Glock's arse, what a great race :p

Actually all of them have pretty similar faces. That's why pick those 2 pictures (did that comparison earlier today).

What a great race it was and was really happy especially because those 3 guys were on the podium. Never liked much Alonso, but still it's nice nostalgia to have the three best drivers of 2000's up there.

Podium like Ferrari's Hall of Fame
F1 | Turun Sanomat 0:31

It's not hard to imagine that on Sunday, on the European Grand Prix podium celebrated trio got Ferrari's Chairman Luca di Montezemolo emotional.

Ferrari's current king Fernando Alonso won his home race in Spain and runner-ups number two and three trophies got Maranello's former world champions Kimi Raikkonen and Michael Schumacher.

It was like Ferrari's very own Hall of Fame!

Alonso, who escaped to 20 point lead in WDC, stopped the admired seven different winner early season, by taking the second jackpot hit after Malaysia's first place. It was 29th career and 8th victory in Ferrari for the Spanish.

Raikkonen is Ferrari's latest world champion from five years ago. Alonso's most recent title is from six years ago with Renault.

No bets for Alonso yet

Italian La Gazzetta dello Sport magazine asked Räikkönen and Schumacher, would they put their money on Alonso's championship or would they bet for Vettel who had to retire from the lead today.

- I do not know the score, so hard to say anything. We have seen how quickly situations changes. All it takes is one bad race, and when the other driver wins, it's a whole new kind of game. I do not invest my money on behalf of either, but use it for something else, Raikkonen said.

Schumacher wondered, that when situations are changing rapidly, he will bet his money on himself...

Don't know about Luca's emotions, but interestingly there was two former Endstone team's WDCs on the podium too.

Sniffpetrol twitteration from the race

"I wouldn't go in there for 5 mins. I had some dodgy prawns last night and now I've got a touch of THE GLOCKS"

Timo has chosen to use the super-soft paper option today.

"Now we push, we push as hard as we can". Not something Timo Glock needed to worry about

BREAKING NEWS: Timo Glock to be investigated after stewards hear what sounds like a blown diffuser.

"Jesus, something's leaking oil onto the Marussia garage floor... oh hello Timo, what are you doing here..."

Karthikeyan penalised for speeding in pit lane. Normally HRT don't need limiter, they just run at race pace through pits with no problem

Idea for new TV show: Jenson Button's Horrible Weekends.
"This week, Jenson books a weekend in a country hotel only to discover that 15 other drivers have much nicer rooms than him".

"Felipe, an erratic pay driver is faster than you. Can you confirm you'll be in on Monday to collect your things..."

Waiting for the HRTs to catch the pack at safety car pace? We'll be here ALL WEEK

This just in from Gary Anderson: "Humgg fraim bruum mnaaang rbububb sraaaa psssinke boox gna... and also the gearbox"

"Saint Paul di Resta? Are you sure Gary? No... you've gone again..."

"Something to do with dolphins? Are you sure Gary? Gary? Oh, you've gone again"

It was noisy, it was chaotic, by the end red was the dominant colour. Enough of Timo Glock's arse, what a great race.
Remember this moment people. The day the Valencia Grand Prix was INTERESTING.

European GP result: 1. Carrying the team 2. Carrying a hip flask 3. Carrying things makes me tired.
