That's one of the risks they accept when they chose those positions that back in the starting list. Yep, the road is cleaner but those big rocks surface.

Jari-Matti is a bit of a jinx, isn't he?

Ugh indeed. At least he should be able to regain and maintain third for the rest of the rally?

Latvala drove 25 km with a broken tyre. Lost 50 seconds :(

Atkinson has crashed out after the flying finish.
He seems to be out for the rest of the day

Oh! and I forgot. Ostberg had a puncture or something like that.
and it seems Latvala rolled in the same place as Novikov.

It seems the FIA doesn't allow Jari-Matti to continue because of the damage of the car (I suppose they suspect he has roll-cage damage).
Neil says that Jari-Matti got distracted by Novikov's car and that's why he crashed.

So Latvala rolled again. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Solberg is signed as his number two so he can have a tilt at Loeb and the title? He seems way too erratic to be a number one driver to me. Quick, but always crashing. Solberg seems a better bet.

If I got it right, Petter is not just contracted as number two, but he even has to bring money to drive.

The thing is that, after the disaster of 2009, Jari-Matti was much more calmed and did less silly things. Dunno, maybe this time it was just bad luck and he really just got distracted by Novikov's accident. But, on the other hand, looking at the splits, it's also true that he was way too fast in that stage, even if he didn't really have any chance to gain any position. He had a lot to lose and nothing to win... and he lost.
