Re: Rate the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix
1 - Best Driver - Lewis Hamilton is the name!
2 - Best Team - McLaren
3 - Best Overtake - Hamilton on Webber, so important!
4 - Best Moment - The last meters, Hamilton screaming on the radio!
5 - Worst Driver - Rubens
6 - Worst Team - Brawn, as Button already said: "How the hell can this car be so bad?!?!"
7 - Best Rookie - Jaime, beat his teammate, not a single spin!
8 - Biggest Surprise - The McLaren win, I predicted a podium, but this.. This is just unreal!
9 - General Comment - 8/10, hope Felipe will be able to race again in 2009

Re: Rate the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix
1 - Best Driver
Jaime Alguersuari. Hamilton clearly had the desire as well as the car to win it, and made the move of the race to win it, but always had the best car with the best condition tyres. He was the second best driver, but contextually, Jaime gets the plaudits. Alguersuari beat his team-mate, and was always with him. A star in the making.
2 - Best Team
McLaren. This was a McLaren circuit, and they utilized their tyres and strategy brilliantly. Hamilton had an easy-peasy time of winning thanks to always having superb tyre condition.
3 - Best Overtake
Hamilton on Webber was a great move. It was also a move for the net lead of the race.
4 - Best Moment
Alonso leading a stint. Wasn't much, and Renault cocked it up for him, but 11 laps it still was, and a pole to add to the records.
5 - Worst Driver
Anyone says Alonso, I will quietly dislike you for a while. What did he do wrong? His car (and specifically the tyres) was the trouble. I think Buemi deserves it for having the only major off-moment of the race.
6 - Worst Team
Renault. How could they have cocked up his race more? Bad strategy, poor setup for the tyres, bad pitstop resulting in a duff wheel, which in the end came off?!!? On lap 12??! Renault, get your act together. Alonso's shrug said it all.
7 - Best Rookie
Alguersuari, it goes without saying. He was on it all weekend. Super job.
8 - Biggest Surprise
McLaren's pace actually wasn't that big of a surprise. What was was the lack of Toyota qualifying pace, but their abundance of race-pace.
9 - General Comment
Bye bye Nelson Piquet. You were so (not) endearing in your general doom-and-gloom approach to racing, bad luck and having an ace team-mate. It was somewhere between melancholy and arrogance. I do however, fail to see where they're going to get anyone better at short notice. Renault also need to say a big bye bye to Alonso. He knows now that he needs to find a better team.
The whole race was a nostalgia trip. Where were Brawn? Nowhere. Red Bull cocked it all up for themselves in addition, and everyone really gifted McLaren the win, but it was kinda like the old days. Hamilton from Raikkonen from.. well, ok, Webber's not exactly a 2007/8 thrownback for the podium, but oh well.
China - 9/10
Malaysia - 8/10
Australia - 7/10
Germany - 7/10
Hungary - 6/10 - Phil's right; this was the best Hungarian Grand Prix since 2006, and the best one of the 2000s apart from it. It was fairly exciting, an odd result added to the interest, there were incidents, overtakes (including a significant one for the lead) and it was generally tense and tactically minded.
Britain - 6/10
Bahrain - 6/10
Spain - 6/10
Monaco - 6/10
Turkey - 5/10

1 - Lewis Hamilton. (its been so long since i said that)
2 - McLaren
3 - Hamilton on Webber
4 - Hamilton's delight on team radio
5 - Buemi
6 - Renault quite literally killed Alonso's race.
7 - Alguersuari, did well for his first GP.
8 - The tyre incident, Brawn's lack of pace, the Hamilton win.
9 - I think it was one of the best, if not the best race of the season.

7 - Best Rookie: Alguersuari
8 - Biggest Surprise: Ferrari and McLaren at the top!

Re: Rate the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix
1 - Best Driver: Hamilton. Special mention: Kimi Räikkönen
2 - Best Team: McLaren
3 - Best Overtake: Kimi on Vettel at the start out of turn 1
4 - Best Moment: Kimi and Lewis fighting for the win in the second stint
5 - Worst Driver: Piquet, Vettel, Trulli pick your favourite...
6 - Worst Team: Red Bull
7 - Best Rookie: We only have two right? So easy choice..
8 - Biggest Surprise: Hamilton winning so dominantly and Kimi fighting for a win up to the second stop. A few unexpected retirements
9 - General Comment: Great race it´s 8/10 for me. So cool and satisfactory to see McLaren vs Ferrari again. I didn´t like that whole Red Bull and Brawn ish at all.
On a sidenote: I was very disappointed with the way people behaved. Felipe spent the night in coma and people on the track were smiling and acting like it was a fantastic day and nothing had happened. Especially the whole Hamilton entourage, disgraceful. They shouldn´t have sprayed champagne on the podium. But that whole behaviour just showed that in F1 nobody gives a damn about an injured driver, as long as it´s not oneself. Ugly, very ugly.

Re: Rate the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix
Whoa I think 'ugly' is extreme: they said they were concerned for Felipe but he's not dead is he. Hamilton and Raikkonen have had a dreadful year so were entitled to celebrate like mad.
And anyway:
And anyway:
Lewis Hamilton wrote:“Finally, my thoughts are with Felipe today. Despite our celebrations, it’s important to remember that there’s a guy lying in a hospital bed tonight, and I think I speak on behalf of everyone when I say that we all had Felipe in our hearts and minds today and we wish him a speedy recovery.”

Dude, calm down!! Hamilton and the team worked hard for this day. You're acting like a child!

Well, they could've toned it down a bit if you ask me.
Rather Nicole and Lewis acted like children.

Brundle [Spain]: 'Where do you think Lewis can finish'
NS: 'I don't know, he's my champion'

Re: Rate the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix
LOL yea I remember that moment, very.........
revealing.
revealing.
Re: Rate the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix
I could understand Lewis. Fair play to him. The people who got on my nerves were Anthony, Nicole and Martin Whitmarsh.
Anthony and Nicole were smiling anjoking around even on the grid before the race and during the race they acted like complete idiots. And Whitmarsh could have been a bit more serious, he´s the team principal after all. Norbert Haug behaved great on german TV.
I had no problem with Lewis´celebration, as a driver it´s different with all the emotions coming up and so on. But if you re-read carefully what I wrote, you´ll see the word entourage I´m sure you know what it means
Kimi could have said something about Felipe too, well that´s Kimi. If I were him, I wouldn´t have sprayed champagne, but I´m ok with his decision to do it.

Re: Rate the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix
Kimi did say something about him.
And, also in the main part of the PC, he said that his second place was at least something positive to Ferrari, and that Ferrari had a tough weekend. He didn't directly mention Massa though.
