Wikipedia wrote:The 2008 Italian Grand Prix is a Formula One motor race which will be held from 12 September to 14 September 2008 at Autodromo Nazionale Monza, Italy. It is the fourteenth and last European race of the 2008 Formula One season.

Last year's race was won by then McLaren driver Fernando Alonso ahead of Lewis Hamilton. The 2006 race saw the last Ferrari win at Monza, with Michael Schumacher's victory and retirement announcement.

Two other former Italian Grand Prix winners are in 2008's field. Rubens Barrichello won the race in both 2002 and 2004, after Ferrari had already clinched the drivers' crown with Schumacher. David Coulthard won the 1997 race for McLaren.

McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton with 76 points leads the Drivers' Championships ahead of Felipe Massa of Ferrari by 2 points with Robert Kubica a further 16 point adrift of Massa and Kimi Raikkonen 19 points behind. In the Constructors' Championships, Ferrari leads with 131 points, 12 ahead of McLaren. However, these figures are in doubt due to McLaren launching an appeal regarding a penalty in the Belgian Grand Prix.

Good idea Arrows_F1.
Let's look forward. Not backward..

I predicted a Kovalainen win. I think that SOMETHING might happen at Monza. I don't know what, but Kovy will be the one to pick up the pieces.

If all goes normally, i.e, not too hot, no mechanical failures for anyone, then it should be a Mac track. Mind you Felipe is on his 1st race with the engine he's on. The other title contender isn't.
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.

I think The McLaren mechanics should block the track in protest of the penalty, but i know it wont happen sadly. i think Lewis would maybe take Massa out if he got the chance, but thats not Lewis' mentality. Ferraris engine superiority (as seen at spa) but McLarens superior handling over the short corners like the chicanes mean this race should be damn close... But if lewis wins, how will he know thats hes won. he should get on the podium, get his trophy and throw it on the floor and walk off... or burn the FIA flag :p lol, im joking... just saying that as i fear the entire italian population will start shooting me.

i believe that he's on fresh engines, so that would be an advantage. but in my opinion, it would definitely be a ferrari one-two. co'z never will they want to happen again the humiliation they suffered from monza last year.

fresh engine for felipe... and kimi hungry.....

i don't about kovvy....in race seems always out of pace......when he won in hungary also was 30 sec away......and monza with low wings does not help if you don't feel confortable

Then I go protest with them!! :)
I am really looking forward to the weekend!! BUT!! Look at this weather prediction:
http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/b ... v_business
I don't wanna be part of another wet race after last years Nürburgring!! It just soooo cold when the rain comes down on you, but that shower, was just beyond every shower I have ever witnessed! Besides that: when it's dry; they all do more laps in the practices :p , and I just wanna see them coming by as much as possible :p . Prediction? I really haven't got a clue, who will have the upper hand here.. ON THE TRACK, because off track it's pretty clear who has got the upper hand...

changing weather conditions again eh? they should put layers and layers of grass on run-off areas on chicanes so no advantage would be gained.

heheh.....nice one, @ joost - and by the way i know who you voted for in this thread :D :D :D :D :D

He is good in specially circuits that require heavy braking.

i think lewis will have a head start but will make some stupid dumb mistake because of his age and the penalty given at spa and give a ferrari the lead

yes, it's only his 2nd year in formula one...and will most likely have more of those silly, painful mistakes.

lewis for the win but expect it to be scrutinised and handed to ferarri, hopefully the bmws will be strong and i hope it doesnt rain as mafia execution will happen to kimi as he ploughs it into the tifosi stand.

my prediction if it stays dry.
1 massa
2 kimi
2 lewis
4 kubica
5 kovi
6 alonso

Hey guys, have a look at this article:
http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/n ... 0146.shtml (and the next page)
It is an interview with McLaren's Lewis Hamilton, about how he prepares for a race weekend, and a little preview of Monza: "I think we'll be quick."
