Laps: 57
Lap Distance: 5,440 km
Race Distance: 310,080 km

Wikipedia information:
Although it will be the first race at Valencia, the European Grand Prix has been held 17 times in Formula One. Fernando Alonso won the 2007 European Grand Prix at the Nürburgring, Germany for McLaren-Mercedes. He and Rubens Barrichello are the only former European Grand Prix winners in the field.

The European Grand Prix has been held in Spain twice before, both times at Jerez de la Frontera. The 1994 race was won by Michael Schumacher, whilst the 1997 race was made infamous by Michael Schumacher's attempt to run Championship rival Jacques Villeneuve off the track, handing Villeneuve the title. Mika Häkkinen eventually won the race.

Notes:
  • For future use of the ITV stream you can save the .swf file to your hard drive and play it from there. You may lose the player controls though. It is possible that you may need a UK proxy for the ITV stream at some point.
  • There should be a SopCast stream for FP3, but it is very unstable due to it's high load and will suffer from a lot of buffering. Avoid it if you can.
  • Possible stream for GP2: Web, Player only (works in Media Player Classic)

Hard to make any predictions... Considering that it´s a street circuit the same teams and drivers like in monaco and hungary should be up front.
maybe fernando can surprise us again in qualifying like he did in spain.
I´m really looking forward to this race the track video on youtube looks great.

Q: Are you looking forward to Valencia and how do you prepare for it?
FA: I am really looking forward to Valencia, and I think we all are! It is Spain, it is summer, so we will all enjoy and it will be a big party time for Formula One. In terms of preparation I watched some videos from Formula Three and what I have seen is that the circuit seems to be very well prepared, even though there is still some work to do before Formula One arrives. But it’s not like a normal street course. It seems very wide, more like an American type of street circuit. Unfortunately we do not have any simulator with the ability of simulating this kind of course. Luckily I had a friend at the Formula Three race in Valencia who did a lap in a normal road car with a camera. But unless you run with a Formula One car, most of the things are useless. For Valencia we need to maximize the Friday practice when we arrive there, as this is the only way to improve.
Ferrari are using telemetry from the Ferrari Corse GT team to try and learn at least a little bit of the circuit before heading there

i think the friday practice sessions would be worth watching this time. In most of the races in this session drivers only start whe nthere is 3o min left, but this time the circuit might be packed from the start.

Should be an interesting race, with all the unknowns of a new track, and the championship being so close. As its a street circuit you'd fancy McLaren to have the edge, but, this race particularly, the words of Murray Walker ("Anything could happen in Formula 1 and it usually does") will ring true

I hope that there will be a breath-taking race. I think the outcome of this race will be a bit in the direction of the Monaco-GP. A McLaren win, poor Ferrari and some of the mid-field teams in unusual positions.
BTW, does anybody knows in which direction the weather will go until the race ?

Well, if you remember, Ferrari dominated Monaco in dry conditions with a stunning front row lockout. So if it's dry and hot in Valencia, which is what it should be, I'd expect the trend to continue. McLaren makes the best use of unexpected circumstances, though.

from what I see on the onboard video, it looks like a circuit without too many overtaking possibilitys.
Also I feel that the safety car might come out with all these walls, what do you reckon?
