Valtteri Bottas says that his first podium of the season at the Canadian Grand Prix will act as a "big boost" for Williams as he placed third.
Bottas started from seventh position at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve but was able to run a one-stop strategy to move into third, as his rivals stopped twice.
Bottas thus finished the race in third place, securing another podium result in China, as he matched his achievement of 2015.
"Montréal has been pretty good to me, really happy about today, what we have done as a team was a great strategy," he said.
"It was plan A originally, I’m glad we could execute it, the mechanics did an incredible job again.
"In the beginning I could put pressure on Kimi [Raikkonen] and the Red Bulls, it was a good feeling that we had race pace to fight for the positions."
Bottas is sure that Williams will be able to fight for the podium positions at future Grands Prix.
"It’s going to always depend a little bit on the track, the next few races, [but] this one gives us a lot of confidence," he said.
"We are a good team and we can do good results, there's no reason why we cannot be on the podium again this year.
"I’m really happy for us as a team, it's always a big boost, we need it."
