Sebastian Vettel claimed victory in a truncated Singapore Grand Prix.

Vettel took the lead when Lewis Hamilton retired with a suspected gearbox failure.

Fernando Alonso claimed third, ahead of Paul di Resta, who put in his best drive in his Formula One career.

The Safety Car was deployed mid-race when Narain Karthikeyan crashed at Turn 18. On the restart, Michael Schumacher crashed into Jean-Eric Vergne, bringing out the pace car for a second time.

Timo Glock finished twelfth, enabling Marussia to leapfrog Caterham in the Constructors Championship.
