Sebastian Vettel has become the first Formula 1 driver to complete a lap of the Sochi Autodrom, which will host October's Russian Grand Prix.
Driving an Infiniti road car, Vettel completed several laps of the 5.8km street circuit, which winds its way around the venues which were used for the Winter Olympics, which took place earlier this year.
"It is great to be back in Sochi and the venue has been transformed since I was last here when it was really just a construction site," he said, having previously visited the area in April last year.
"Having driven the full circuit for the first time in the Infiniti Q50, it’s an interesting layout with a good mix of high speed corners and technical sections.
"It’s going to be a huge challenge in a Formula One car for sure and I’m really looking forward to coming back in October."
The circuit, designed by Hermann Tilke, was given the green light by FIA race director Charlie Whiting earlier this month.
