Vergne: Toro Rosso better than in 2013

Australian F1 Grand Prix - PreviewsJean-Eric Vergne believes that Toro Rosso has made gains compared to 2013.

Vergne scored points in Australia but has since been beset by misfortune. The French racer nonetheless says that he and Toro Rosso must believe that the results will arrive.

"I think it is really good, it sounds weird but we need to keep the momentum," he said of Toro Rosso's 2014 season.

"The work we’ve done is much better than last year, my job was better than last year. Everything is going in the right direction, we’ve made so many changes and it’s difficult to get everything right in the same time, but we’ve had so many good signs that we need to believe in ourselves and keep pushing. We are all really confident that the result will come – maybe not this weekend but the results will come."

Vergne also believes some of the improvements have come from him as a driver.

"From the inside I feel much better when I arrive at the track," he said.

"I’m happy to be here and willing to make the best out of my person – qualifying has been much better for me this year and I’m happy in general. Happy in life!"
